A British Christening a la Francais

Purely Events were delighted when Cressida asked them to arrange her daughter’s Lily Rose christening and their leaving party to live in Paris the City of Love. The church ceremony was held in the stunning church St Nicholas which is one of the three ancient parishes of Guildford in Surrey. The party took place at the gorgeous Talbot Hotel in Ripley, one of England’s finest coaching inns.

The Talbot has for centuries played its part in history and is said to have provided the stage for Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton’s love affair to blossom in 1798. The party was a relaxed affair with a barbeque, Pimms and wine to greet the guests. As the guests entered the beautiful courtyard they were greeted to the sounds of the uber talented James Dean. James not only writes his own music but he also plays a whole range of covers and is amazing at perfectly pitching his melodic sounds to what his audience wants to hear.

So whilst the adults relaxed with a drink, conversation and music, the children were entertained with some great party games such as giant Jenga and Connect Four. The little cherubs also enjoyed the wonderful face painter that created her magic designs from fairies to pirates.

But the star of the show (apart from the wonderful Lily of course) was Sammy the juggler. He is a world class performer who features on television and many well known advertisement campaigns. He comes highly recommended by Purely Events and his workshop kept the kids entertained and wanting more.

What a wonderful day!!! Everyone was delighted that they could relax knowing that their children were being well looked after. A huge thank you to David Long who took the photos.

Brilliant and fantastic for me as no worries to organise it. It took five years for me to get her Christened but it was well worth the wait. Lou and the team took all the pressure off and made a fabulous day. Another one to go down in the books. Thank you and I will be in touch next year. Cressida
