Swinging into action with a corporate golf day

The sun was shining down on the fabulous 18 hole golf course in Guildford for the YMCA corporate charity golf day. Purely Events organised the day helping the YMCA to raise money for their safe accommodation for young people aged 16 – 25 in Bridge Street Guildford and their Plantation Cafe in Market Street, which is a place where young people can go and get support, encouragement and advice. The day went off with a bang to the sound of a firework and a shotgun start. After 18 holes and various competitions throughout the day the guests were treated to a pimms reception putting and pro tricks from the clubs pro Andy Kirk. After all these activities there was a fantastic auction with items donated from Eurostar, Hotel Du Vin in Brighton and a family photo session with the fabulous David Long Photography who with his wife Claire took the photos.

The event raised over £4,000 for the charity Pete Brayne the CEO of the Guildford YMCA was delighted with how well the event was organised and the fantastic feedback he received from the attendees.

The event wouldn’t have been complete without the fabulous comedy from Paul Kerensa who is based in Guildford he is a writer for television and radio as well working the UK comedy circuit with his hilarious stand up comedy act. He runs a night at the Stoke Pub in Guildford called ‘You must be Stoking’ which is a must see if you are in the Guildford area. A huge thank you to Paul who gave his services for free in aid of such of worthy cause.

It was a brilliant day – thank you Louise, we couldn’t have done it without you! Looking forward to the 2011 event, anticipating it will be every bit as well organised and smooth running.
