From the Cotswolds with love

Purely Events were featured by the wedding industries most informative and resourceful website Rock My Wedding. If you haven’t checked them out go to www.rockmywedding.com it is totally cool and run by the most glamourous ladies in the business, giving a bride and groom all the most up to date information on whats hot and what’s not for your wedding day.
Clare who was from the UK was living many miles away in Russia with her beau Andy. She had read the piece on Purely Events and e-mailed us to discuss how we could help both her and Andy to ensure their day was a complete success and ran to perfection. Clare and Andy were delighted when we managed to help them save money in certain areas of their wedding and also liaise directly with the venue assisting them with the menus, timing schedule, the rooming list and much more. The venue Bibury Court is a spectacular Jacobean mansion that stands next to a quaint church in one of Gloucestershire’s loveliest villages. There are six-acres of garden it is utterly English, with croquet on the lawn, clipped yew hedges, a rose arbour flanked by beds of lavender and a serene river Coln ambling past on one side. You can fish from its banks or follow the footpath into glorious countryside; simply stunning!

The day began with an early start when Katy Messer arrived one of the most renowned international makeup artists in the wedding business with a career spanning more than 14 years working with some of the biggest names in the beauty industry, most recently as the International Make-up Artist with Laura Mercier. Clare was already a beautiful looking bride with stunning features and Katy enhanced her beauty with a classic style of makeup.

Creating the backdrop for this wedding was a delightful task with tea lights, vintage candlestick holders and fairy lights. We also dressed the cake table with the most delicious cup cakes made by Katie Booth and the lettering ‘Let Them Eat Cake’. Claire also had some vintage photo frames informing her guests what was actually in the cakes.

We were delighted when Andy and Clare wanted to do away with the traditional table plan and opt for escort cards instead. This made a fun alternative and gave the guests a great talking point. Clare decided to get a vintage suitcase and fill it with antique books, using Penguin front cover postcards with the names of her guests on and the table they were to be seated at the guests were then able to locate their table in the main dining room. Clare also wanted to have something nostalgic which reminded her guests of their own wedding day. This is where she had requested previously that all her guests who were married would send in their wedding photos and have them scanned into black and white. Originally the photos were going to be placed on a bay tree however Clare and Andy decided to finally put them on a wooden washing line. The guests loved searching for their own photographs as well as looking at their friends and family’s memories of their own special day.

The evening was a complete success with Andy’s friends band playing their favourite songs into the wee hours and for entertainment Purely Events set up their vintage photo booth which went down a storm with the guests and made for some delightful polaroid photos which we pegged up on the wall for all to see.

Most of the photos on this blog piece were captured by the artistic photographer Matt Davies www.mattdavisphotography.net and a few of them were taken by the Purely Events team..a huge thank you to Matt for allowing us to use some of the photos.
