Rafferty's Village Fete Party Extravaganza!

We were delighted when David and Claire from David Long Photography asked us to help with their son Rafferty’s 3rd birthday party. The challenge was they only asked us two weeks before the big day! Claire had some amazing ideas about how she wanted the party to look and all of this was to be in the theme of a village fete. The most exciting of her ideas for me as an event planner was the ice cream parlour and the sweetie table – a real opportunity to show what can be done not only for a 3rd birthday but really for any event or celebration. Our vision was a soft colour palette with clean lines and to keep the aesthetic simple and light. Pretty bunting helped create the village fete feel to the event. The sweetie table also added colour and we tied in the light blue theme with not only the table but also with the quirky ‘eat me’ ‘yum yum’ ‘sweetie heaven’ tags that were ribboned to the sweetie jars. We also had light blue gift tags made with a message from Rafferty on the back. Both the ice cream table and the sweetie table were a huge hit. Each child loved filling a bag of sweets as their going home present.

Rafferty’s mum was really keen to have a photobooth and with David being such an amazing photographer it only seemed right that we set up an area where the kids could try on their favourite themed costumes. This was extremely popular and even the shy kids could be seen bouncing about in front of the camera.

The kids absolutely loved the sweetie table and the idea was so versatile that it really could be used for any event whether young or old. The bright colours of the sweets contrasted really well with the soft blue backdrop.

A special thank you to Amy Moss from Eatdrinkchic for inspiring us with her amazing table design and signs. Michelle Fiedler for assistance with the design work of the posters and changing all the colours to a fabulous baby blue and Deborah Mitchell for the printing. Also hugs and kisses to Jo Burton for her beautiful cakes and meringues. And finally a huge thank you to Victoria Hirst our new little helper at the Purely Events team.

This looks truly special and should be the main feature of a glossy lifestyle magazine! I love all the attention to detail, which appeals to both the grown-ups and kiddies alike. A perfect mélange of fun and elegance…This has given me much needed inspiration for my daughter’s Christening. Purely Events I’ll be in touch!!
